NOTD: The Polish that Started It All

I've been obsessed with nail polish for around 3 years now, and I have to thank this nail polish for it: O.P.I's 20 Candles on my Cake

I still remember going to the Philippines and getting my first manicure. When I came back from the Philippines, I love the color so much that I wanted to be able to have the same color on again if I wanted to. I definitely hesitated when I bought this because I thought $8 was so much for a nail polish, but finally gave into my first O.P.I nail polish, and the beginning of my nail polish addiction. I actually don't hear about this nail polish enough...or even at all: it is so under hyped!

On my nails I have O.P.I: 20 Candles On my Cake minus my accent nail ring finger, which I have American Apparel's Rouge because of course I love something different on my accent nail.
I wanted to spice it up with a a glitter tip, so I used China Glaze: Techno.
my first and possible favorite nail polish :)
What do you think about this color? What is the nail polish that started your obsession?

Spring Fever VoxBox

I was definitely shocked when Influenster emailed me about me being chosen for their Spring Fever VoxBox. I was really excited to see what would be in my very first Influenster box.
Five things in the box of goodies!
Included in the Spring VoxBox are:
Secret Outlast Clear Gel Deodorant in Completely Clean
OSiS Dust it Matifying Powder
NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm in Big Apple Red
Broadway Nails imPress Press-On Manicure in Just Say Yes
Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes in Peanut Butter
Just wanted to show the NYC lip balm: Has A Cute Apple in the balm!
I've only tried out a couple products, like the Secret Deodorant, OSiS Dust if Matifying Powder and the NYC Glossy Lip Balm.

So far:
I really like the deodorant.
I think the lip balm is alright. Good Lip balm, but I would prefer a lip butter for something more pigmented
and I don't like the OSiS Matifying Powder. I think the powder is quite sticky, but I've only tried it twice, so I should try it out some more.

Disclaimer: I received these products complementary for testing purposes from Influenster.

NOTD: Deviantly Darling & Yodel Me on My Cell

I don't think I've been excited about an untried nail polish in I don't know how long! I'm definitely someone that prefers cream finishes over any other kinds just because its the easiest to apply and looks sophisticated, but after putting this polish on....oh my, I may have to change my mind.

I've had China Glaze Deviantly Darling for around 9 months. I bought this because I thought the color was gorgeous, but didn't wear it for some time, and left to go to Europe for half a year, and when I came back from Europe, the finish just didn't really appeal to me. And today, I finally got myself to wear it just because I was going through my nail polish stash and trying to wear colors that I haven't before...and I'm so glad I did, because I'm absolutely loving it!

As I was going through my stash, I was trying to see if something similar compared to Deviantly Darling, and I took out O.P.I Yodel Me on My Cell. It looks somewhat similar, but Yodel Me on My Cell is bit more blue and Deviantly Darling is more green. Both are gorgeous though!

I actually can't believe I like this combo so much! I will definitely be wearing soon!! I would definitely recommend both these colors, but I'm pretty sure (not 100% sure) that China Glaze Deviantly Darling is  discontinued, but Yodel Me on My Cell is very close and may be easier to get.

Hautelook Spring 2013 Beauty Bag

I FINALLY received my order from Hautelook for the Spring 2013 Beauty Bag. I think I ordered it almost...a month ago-talk about slow shipping. Oh well. The bag was $25 + shipping and handling, which I thought the shipping and handling was pretty expensive to be honest. It came in a pretty cute stripped plastic bag:
inside the bag with all the stuff!
The Spring 2013 Beauty Bag includes quite a few thing:

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil Travel Size in Demolition
Lorac Full-Size Eyeshadow in Celebutante
Crown Brush  Pro Blending Fluff
Lorac Full-Size 3D Lashes Mascara
NYX Cosmetics  Full-Size Lipstick in Shiva
Stila All-Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer
Laura Geller Mini Blush-n-Brighten in Berry
Suki Skincare Full-Size Exfoliate Cleanser
LA Fresh Beauty Wipes
Jessica Simpson Vintage Bloom Fragrance Sampler
Smile Sciences $50 Gift Certificate
It also included a couple coupons to Laura Geller, Lorac, and NYX.

All The Goodies!
One of the first thing I noticed is the Lorac eyeshadow in Celebutante, not because of the color, but because it came broken.
I've never actually attempted to put back together a cracked eye shadow with rubbing alcohol, but I tried it with this one. I dropped some alcohol, in the pot, but a paper towel over the eye shadow, and put a quarter down over the paper towel and pressed down on it. It actually turned out quite well. Doesn't exactly look quite new, but I would still use it!

I'm excited to try these products out, and I will definitely be posting about it!

Did anyone get the Spring 2013 Beauty bag from Hautelook? What do you think of the products inside?

NOTD: Greycian Goddess & Recycle

I was taking off my last manicure, and I thought it was amusing to take a picture of my foiled nails :P . But seriously, I forgot about the foil method for quite some time. I've been taking glittered manicures off by just rubbing my fingers raw which made me not hate the idea of glitters because of it. But I remembered this method right as I was going to take it off, and decided to give a try, and boy....do I appreciate this SOO much more!
RAW!
I wanted to go for a more settle look today so I went through my stash and since I haven't worn these two nail polish in ages, I decided to pull them out and wear them.

On all my nails except the accent (ring) nail, I have on Loreal's Greycian Goddess and on my accent nail I have on China Glaze Recycle. I really like them both! Greycian Goddess has a purple undertone and Recycle is a bit warmer, but loving this mani!

NOTD: It's A Trap-eze! & Whimsical

I got China Glaze's: It's A Trap-eze! at Ulta the other day, and honestly couldn't wait to try it out. There were just so many different colors, and it looked perfect for spring. And I almost always use two different nail polish colors so I took out Revlon's: Whimsical because I thought they looked a bit similar with the base color.

The first time I applied it, I decided that Revlon's "Whimsical" was too sheer to be on its own, and "It's A Trap-eze!" looked a bit messy with too much glitter with several coats, so I did a base color underneath both of them. To make it more fun, I used Essie: Borrowed and Blue underneath "It's a Trap-eze!" and Hard Candy: Sky underneath "Whimsical".
L-R: Whimsical (over "Sky"), It's A Trap-eze! (over "Borrowed & Blue"), Whimsical, It's A Trap-eze!

Though I thought the mani was fun to wear for a little bit, I didn't really think it was an everyday manicure, so I ended up taking it off soon afterwards. I think if I used Revlon's: Whimsical for all my nails except for the ring finger, in which I would use China Glaze: It's a Trap-eze as an accent nail, it would be a bit more wearable for me personally.

The Pre-Buy Before A Project No Buy

I've always loved makeup and after several years, the products I have purchased have completely racked up. So after looking at my makeup collection carefully, I have decided to go on a project no buy. I was thinking of doing a Project 10 Pan (when you use up 10 products before you are allowed to purchase more makeup), but makeup takes quite a long time to use up, and I love to use different products everyday instead of using the same thing, so I figured a Project no buy was the best way to go.  I don't know how long this no-buy will last, but I do want to use up a couple makeup products before allowing myself to buy things again.

But of course, typical me, I decided I needed some stuff before completely committing myself to it, so these past couple weeks, I bought some stuff to hold me through until I allow myself to buy things again.
Yay! Super excited to experiment with some color, which was why I originally bought things things in the first place.

I bought the two Wet n' Wild spring collections online, because I looked at all the local CVS's near me and just couldn't find these two, but there was a company online that sold them, but unfortunately they were bit more expensive than the retail cost and you could only buy both palettes together. But I'm glad I finally got my hands on them because I have been really having the urge to play with colored eyeshadow, and unfortunately, my whole entire makeup collection consists on neutral colors.
Wet n' Wild: Nude Awakening

Wet n' Wild: Going into the Wile
And after drooling over this next product for the longest time, I finally decided that I absolutely needed it. And it is the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel (or the Chanel cream bronzer). I've heard such good things about it and I am a bronzer girl. I don't think I can leave the house without bronzer, so I finally decided to splurge and get this.

I also got another eyeshadow palette. I got this Lorac: GloGetter palette because I was thinking about getting the Sigma: Resort palette, but it was 40+ dollars while this Lorac, Ulta exclusive palette is only 20 dollars. Again, I've been wanting to play with some colors so I thought this was a better buy than the sigma palette.

Also got the e.l.f: Kabuki Face Brush as well a China Glaze nail polish in It's a Trap-eze!

And as I was on my way to the check out stand at Target, I saw this scarf that completely stole my eyes and it was on clearance for around 10 dollars. This scarf is from Merona, and it just screams spring and summer which is what I am completely into right now!
I have ONE more thing from Hautelook that I bought almost two weeks ago, but after that arrives, I am going on my no buy! I'm a bit nervous because I am just a makeup junkie! I probably use a good chunk of my paycheck to go towards makeup or skin care related things. But I'm definitely excited to really focus in on what I already own, and use it and experiment with what I have! Here goes nothing!
